Mindfulness
“When our senses, feelings and thoughts are attuned to each other, we realize that ideas and actions that make ourselves balanced and happy, also contribute to the harmony of the world around us.” Tarthang Tulku
In this very first retreat weekend in the World Peace Stupa Center you will get introduced to Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga by two qualified teachers who are part of the WPSCE staff.
Kum Nye is rooted in ancient medical and meditative traditions of the Himalaya region. It was redesigned by Tibetan Lama Tarthang Tulku to bring relaxation to his western students and to reconnect us with the wisdom of our bodily feelings.
This retreat has a little theory but mostly practices. Slow mindful movement exercises will be followed by short periods of nourishing meditation. Self-massage and breathing exercises complete the introduction to the benefits of Kum Nye. Kum Nye harmonizes our energy flow so our body, mind and senses will be integrated. You will be surprised how good you will feel even after a little practice. If the weather permits, we will also practice outside in the peaceful retreat garden.
The retreat is open to all, no special experience or level of fitness required.

Sandra Degenhart
Sandra learned to teach Kum Nye and Joy of Being at the German Nyingma Center in Cologne.
Moving with awareness and awareness while moving – is leading her practice. She tries to integrate Kum Nye in daily live together with Caring, Meditation and Buddhism as a path to deeper understanding of life and dealing with challenges. Her daily bussiness is leading a home for people with special needs.
Karin Jansen
Karin has been practicing Kum Nye for a long time. Starting with exercising from the books, then taking lessons followed by doing the Kum Nye teaching training. Because Kum Nye can be practiced on so many different levels it continues to fascinate her. She is thankful to have the opportunity to pass on the benefits Kum Nye offers and practice Kum Nye in a group.
In addition to Kum Nye, she has broad interests in gardening, nature, acupressure, orthomolecular medicine. She is very interested in the effect of the self-healing capacity and the mutual coherence of the part and the whole. She also followed the Unity in Duality course in Buddhist psychology and philosophy at the Tarab Institute.
